Puerto Morelos

Puerto Morelos is a small fishing village located in the heart of the Mayan Riviera.  It is 20 miles south of the international resort of Cancun (12 miles south of Cancun Airport) and 20 miles North of swinging Playa del Carmen and the island of Cozumel.

Muy Tranquilo

Surrounded by mangroves to the west and the Caribbean Sea to the East, Puerto Morelos has remained tranquil and very peaceful.  Here, the Palancar reef comes to within 200 yards of shore, creating shelter for all types of underwater life.   It also attracts divers, fishermen, bird watchers and nature lovers.  The mangroves are home to birds and animals, including hummingbirds, orioles and parrots.  The blue waters of the Caribbean sparkle in the daytime sun, and by night the Mayan Moon weaves magic across the shore.

Fishermen and Ex-Patriots

The people of Puerto Morelos are a colorful mixture of young and old, fishermen and ex-patriots, aging 'pirates' and new adventurers.  They are 'laid-back', easy-going, and friendly.
